Fire Assay/Cupellation Furnaces up to 1300 °C
The Nabertherm Cupellation & Fire Assay Furnaces are “Made in Germany” for separating precious metals up to 1300 °C. These special application furnaces feature a robust **ceramic muffle** to protect from aggressive gases and an **integrated exhaust hood** for safe ventilation.
The Nabertherm Cupellation Furnace is a “Made in Germany” solution, specially designed for the very demanding process requirements of **fire assay (cupellation)**. This process, for example, is used to separate precious metals like gold or silver from alloys with base metals. However, this process releases aggressive gases that attack standard furnace insulation and heating elements.
Nabertherm built these furnaces to solve this exact problem. As a result, they feature a protective ceramic muffle and a special fresh-air and exhaust system. This system guides exhaust gases directly into the integrated exhaust hood while pre-heating fresh air for the furnace atmosphere. In addition, all wear and tear parts, like the muffle and heating elements, are designed to be replaced easily.
