The Metrology IMI-CNC Bridge Series is a heavy-duty, large-travel bridge video measuring machine manufactured by Metrology (Jingstone Precision Group). Engineered specifically for massive workpieces from 600×500 mm up to 1500×2000 mm, this system provides unmatched structural stability and high-accuracy automated optical verification.

When inspecting large, heavy parts—such as oversized automotive stamping dies, aerospace structural panels, large-format PCB backplanes, and flat panel display glass—cantilever machines with moving tables suffer from dynamic inertia, load deflection, and stage yaw. Operating as a stationary-table bridge video measuring machine, the IMI-CNC Bridge keeps the heavy granite worktable completely stationary while the gantry bridge glides smoothly overhead on precision guide rails, ensuring zero inertia vibration and consistent volumetric accuracy regardless of part weight.

Heavy-Duty Bridge Video Measuring Machine Structural Design

Constructed entirely with stress-relieved DIN 00 granite bases and gantry beams, the machine incorporates 0.0005 mm (0.5 μm) closed-loop optical linear grating scales and high-performance AC servo drives. The system delivers exceptional volumetric accuracy of E2 = ±(3.0 + L/200) μm across measuring strokes up to 2 meters, supporting massive component loads exceeding 500 kg without mechanical deflection.

The dual-beam gantry motion system ensures perfectly synchronized travel without crabbing or torsional distortion. The platform is fully multi-sensor capable, integrating high-resolution digital optical cameras with optional Renishaw (U.K.) 3D touch probes and non-contact chromatic confocal laser sensors for comprehensive dimensional verification across oversized workpieces. The Jingstone CNC software automates large-format multi-point stitching, high-speed batch routines, tolerance validation, and seamless direct CAD export in DXF, STEP, and IGES formats. Operators can also integrate automated temperature compensation sensors to maintain certified ISO metrological traceability even during ambient temperature fluctuations.
