Cometech Series E Grips | Yarn, Textile, Wire & Bollard Testing
- Series E grips are specialized low-to-medium force grips for yarn, fiber, thin wire, textile webbing, rope, and flat sheet testing — 7 models covering capstan/bollard, plane, and vice-action designs from 200N to 5kN capacity across core diameter sizes Ø0.1–4mm and specimen thickness 0.1–3mm.

Overview
Cometech Series E grips are designed for flexible, fibrous, and thin-section specimens — yarn, fiber, thin metal wire, nylon wire, rope, textile webbing, and flat sheet materials including paper and plastic film — where standard wide-jaw vice grips would crush or slip on the specimen.
The series spans two distinct grip families: capstan/bollard grips (GR-E040, E050, E080) that wrap the specimen around a central pin for maximum gripping force without specimen damage, and plane/vice-action grips (GR-E010, E020, E030, E060) with narrow jaw widths for direct clamping of thin specimens.
Capacity ranges from 200N for delicate single-fiber and yarn testing up to 5kN for heavy rope and wire, with minimum load cells from 20N to 200N ensuring compatibility with even the lightest Cometech UTM configurations.
