Overview

The Cometech QC-GSA Stand Holder is a dedicated loading stand designed to hold and guide any Shore durometer (hardness tester) during rubber and plastic hardness measurements per ASTM D2240, ISO 868, DIN 53505, and JIS K7215 standards.
When measuring with a hand-held durometer, operator-applied force varies between tests and between operators — the QC-GSA eliminates this by applying a fixed, standard load (1 kg or 5 kg) at a controlled descent, ensuring the indenter contacts the specimen flat and at the correct force every time.
The test procedure requires pressing the specimen flat against the Ø105mm test bench and recording the peak reading at first contact, or setting a fixed dwell time, then averaging 5–10 measurement positions across the specimen to obtain a representative hardness value.
