Overview

The Cometech QC‑952/954/956/958 series is a computerized hydraulic universal testing machine platform built for higher‑capacity testing, commonly used for tensile testing of metallic materials and mechanical testing of steel products to determine yield strength, tensile strength, elongation and related properties.

The hydraulic machine uses an individual controller cabinet intended to make maintenance easier and reduce electrical disturbance.

The system is designed to run with Cometech’s M2F software ecosystem for data acquisition, control and reporting, with optional PC connection over TCP/IP (RJ45) shown in the series specification materials.

Standards & metal testing

Cometech lists this series as capable of performing tests conforming to ISO 7500‑1, JJG 475‑88, ASTM E4, ASTM A370, ISO 6892‑1, ASTM E8 and other standards commonly used for metallic material tensile testing and steel product evaluation.

The machine is described as commonly used to determine yield strength, stress, tensile strength, shear, bending and elongation values for metallic materials and steel products.

M2F software functions

  • Data sampling rate configurable up to 1200 Hz.
  • Operation by keyboard/mouse; also supports machine up/down buttons to adjust fixture position.
  • TCP/IP two‑way transmission allows the computer to directly control machine actions.
  • Compatible with Windows 8/10; multi‑language UI (Chinese/English listed).
  • Metric/imperial unit selection; multiple test dataset import and simultaneous display.
  • Flexible reporting, graph X‑Y axis adjustment, interval marks and slope tools; supports user‑defined formulas and data names.
  • Test methods include tensile, compression, bending, creep and more, plus protections such as overload, over‑displacement and overtime.
  • Supports multiple sets of I/O signals to expand testing mechanisms and test actions (e.g., creep and constant tensile/compression).

Accessories

  • Standard accessories: tensile grips (V face and flat face) and compression set are listed as standard equipment for the series.
  • Optional accessories: QC‑557 short extensometer is shown as an optional accessory for elongation tests under 50%.
