Cometech QC-805 / QC-805A Tape Initial Adhesion Tester | Rolling Ball Tack, 30° Incline, PSTC-6 / JIS Z0237 / ASTM D3121
- Rolling ball tack tester for measuring the initial adhesion (tack) of pressure-sensitive adhesive tapes — releases steel balls down a 30° inclined panel onto the tape surface and evaluates the largest ball number that sticks within a given tape length.
- QC-805 is a single-set tester (fixed 30° angle); QC-805A is a multi-set unit (4 sets, adjustable 20°–40° angle) for higher-throughput testing.
- Steel balls No. 2–32 (SUS stainless steel); 100 mm run-up distance; conforms to PSTC-6, JIS Z0237, ASTM D3121, and GB/T 4852.
- Used alongside QC-801/802 holding power testers and QC-803 roller for a complete pressure-sensitive adhesive tape quality control workflow.

Overview
Cometech QC-805 / QC-805A Tape Initial Adhesion (Ball Tack) Tester measures the initial adhesion (tack) of pressure-sensitive adhesive tapes using the rolling ball method.
The tape is laid adhesive-side up on the inclined panel; a steel ball is released from the top of the ramp and rolls 100 mm down the run-up distance before contacting the adhesive surface.
The largest numbered ball (heaviest/largest diameter) that the tape can stop within a defined length is taken as the tape's tack value — a larger ball number indicates higher initial tack.
The QC-805A offers four test sets and an adjustable angle (20°–40°) for versatile adhesive characterization.
