Overview
Cometech QC-621A Manual Crock Meter is used to evaluate color fastness to rubbing by rubbing a specimen against a white cotton cloth under a defined load and stroke.
After the test, the staining level on the white cotton is observed to determine the specimen’s color fastness level.
How the test works (typical)
-
- Clamp the specimen on the fixed test seat.
-
- Clamp/wrap dry or wet white cotton cloth on the abrasion head.
-
- Rotate the handle to run the specified number of back-and-forth rubs (commonly 10 cycles).
-
- Remove the cotton cloth and assess staining level to grade rubbing fastness.
