Overview

The Cometech QC-551 Long Extensometer is specifically designed for high-elongation materials that exceed 20% elongation during tensile testing — including rubber, thermoplastic films, PE, fabric, and webbing — where a standard clip-on gauge would run out of travel before specimen break.
The extensometer clamps onto the dumbbell-shaped specimen and remains attached throughout the entire test, automatically detecting deformation when connected to a Cometech universal testing machine, eliminating the need for manual removal mid-test.
Two stroke variants are available — 700mm (standard) and 1100mm (extended) — both at 0.025mm resolution with a gauge length adjustable from 10 to 50mm to match different specimen geometries and test standards.
