Cometech QC-315 Perspiration Tester | Color Fastness to Perspiration (AATCC 15 / ISO 105)

  • Perspiration tester for evaluating color fastness of colored textiles after soaking in solution and applying a fixed compressive pressure.
  • Test setup uses a stitched composite specimen (test fabric with multi-fiber fabric, or two single fabrics), then soaking in solution.
  • Applies 12.5 kPa clamping pressure, then conditions in an oven at 37.5°C for 4 hours before grading staining/tainting.
  • Practical solution for routine QC of dyed textiles and coated/treated fabrics.

Overview

Cometech QC-315 Perspiration Tester is used to determine the fastness of colored textiles after soaking in solution and holding the specimen under pressure at controlled temperature for a defined period. The method uses a composite specimen (test textile stitched with one multi-fiber fabric, or two single fabrics), soaked in solution, then clamped under pressure and placed in an oven. After conditioning, the multi-fiber fabric is removed and the staining/tainting is graded using the appropriate evaluation scale.

Technical Specifications

Standards

  • AATCC 15
  • ISO 105
  • JIS 0848
  • GB/T 5713

Test workflow (typical)

  1. Prepare a composite specimen by stitching the test textile with one piece of multi-fiber fabric (or two pieces of single fabric).
  2. Soak the specimen in the test solution.
  3. Clamp the soaked specimen under 12.5 kPa pressure.
  4. Place the clamped specimen into an oven at 37.5°C.
  5. After 4 hours, remove the multi-fiber fabric and evaluate staining/tainting using the grading method required by your standard.
