Overview

The Cometech QC-121M2F Box Compression Tester is designed to simulate the compressive forces that corrugated cartons, foam inserts, and styrofoam packaging encounter during transport, stacking, warehousing, and handling — quantifying the packaging's resistance to deformation and collapse under sustained or dynamic load.
The machine uses a 3-point bottom plate induction load measurement system rather than a single central load cell, distributing the force sensing across the base for more stable and accurate readings on large, irregularly supported carton specimens.
The upper platen can be configured as either fixed or U-joint swivel, allowing it to self-level against non-parallel carton surfaces during testing — a critical feature for conformance to ASTM D642, ISO 12048, and TAPPI T804 which specify flat-platen and swivel-platen conditions respectively.
