Overview
Cometech QC-117 / QC-117A Coefficient of Friction Tester evaluates static COF by placing one specimen on the platform, putting a second specimen attached to a standard weight on top, and raising the platform angle until sliding starts.
The tangent value of the initial slide angle is taken as the surface static friction coefficient, helping users compare slip characteristics between paper/packaging materials and coatings.
The QC-117A motor type increases the angle at a stable, adjustable rate and stops automatically when the test ends for better repeatability and throughput.
