The Cometech GS-702N is a D-type hardness tester (analog durometer) used to measure hardness of hard plastics and hard rubber by applying a specified force and reading the value on the pointer dial.
Because handheld hardness readings can vary by operator force and measurement location, the recommended method is to take multiple readings (5–10 times, and at multiple positions) and use the average value for reporting.
Using a fixed-pressure load stand helps provide accurate load and improves measurement accuracy and reproducibility for QC and lab comparison.
